Restoring a 1915 Colonial Revival house
Bathroom Reconstruction

After several delays due to the wonderful economic conditions, we started the reconstruction of the second floor bathroom in June 2011. The picture above may not look like much, but it is beautiful to us. The picture shows the new 4" PVC drain line in place. The line is only dry-fit in the picture and has not been glued yet. This replaces the century-old 4" cast iron line that we took out. Installing this line took a while to get right. We had to take measurements of the antique toilet we are installing and had to work from there, including openings and space for the drain lines from the tub and sink. The angle of the tee coming off of the stack had to be just right, too.

Expect this page to grow in the coming months.
